About Me

Empathetic Support for Individuals, Couples, and Families
As a therapist trainee at the Center for Mental Health Excellence (CFMHE), I am dedicated to understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals, couples, and families. My approach combines empathetic listening with evidence-based strategies to help clients navigate their difficulties effectively. I focus on building a supportive and trusting relationship, where clients feel valued and understood. Together, we explore practical solutions and coping mechanisms that foster resilience and facilitate meaningful change. My goal is to empower each client to achieve better mental health and improved well-being, providing support every step of the way.

Diverse Professional Background and Personal Experience
My path to becoming a therapist is uniquely influenced by a diverse professional and personal background. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business and 15 years of experience as a marketing executive, I have gained a deep understanding of human behavior and communication, skills that are invaluable in the therapeutic setting. As a graduate of culinary school, I appreciate the nurturing aspects of care and the role of creativity in wellness. My own experiences in therapy have given me profound empathy and a practical approach to mental health, as they were pivotal in overcoming family cycles and supporting my recovery journey.

Specialized Areas of Focus
Drawing from my diverse background and specific clinical training, I specialize in several key areas:

– Eating Disorders: As a current group facilitator dealing with eating disorders, I bring specialized knowledge and a compassionate approach to helping clients manage and overcome these complex conditions.
– Stress and Anxiety Management: Leveraging my corporate experience, I offer effective strategies for managing stress and anxiety in demanding environments.
– Career and Life Transitions: Having navigated significant personal and professional transitions myself, I am adept at supporting clients through changes such as career shifts, educational developments, or personal milestones.
– Addiction and Recovery: Informed by my own recovery journey, I offer empathetic support and understanding for individuals dealing with addictive behaviors.
– Lifestyle Integration and Personal Well-being: As a culinary school graduate, I appreciate the connection between well-being and one’s lifestyle choices, including the role of creativity and personal satisfaction in daily habits.

Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
As a biracial woman of color, therapist, and avid traveler, my commitment to diversity and inclusion is deeply rooted in both my personal and professional life. My global perspective informs my approach, fostering a therapeutic environment that is not only inclusive but also actively celebrates diversity. Aligned with CFMHE’s mission, I prioritize making mental health care accessible and affordable for all, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive the support they need.
